Cafe Y Taberna (Tai Hang, HK)

Tai Hang is an old area that’s now dotted with a number of independent stores and cafes. I think it feels a little like Star Street, just less expensive and a little homelier.

Cafe Y Taberna, located in the middle of this little enclave, has a grand total of four tables (I spied the last one in the back alley). It serves pretty decent coffee and a range of lunch sets, as I found out after waking up too late for breakfast. I don’t know why it was so empty when I arrived, especially since it was the perfect offering for a public holiday: coffee, books, and increasingly hip neighbourhood.

It’s a bit of a walk from Causeway Bay or Tin Hau MTR, but earn your calories!
